Candlestick makeover

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was spent re-cooping from a nasty cold but I'm on the mend now & wanted to share a recent makeover of some old brass candlesticks I had. I got these candlesticks about two summers ago at a church yard sale, it was late in the afternoon & the workers were pushing the last items in a $1 a bag sale, I stuffed my bag with a few other things & these babies came with me. I just love their shape & knew they would made a handsome pair once blasted with some spray paint.

They ended up sitting in a box for quite some time, in all honestly I was a little reluctant to paint them because I was afraid it wouldn't hold up on the brass and a few weekends ago I got up the nerve to try. I sanded them down a bit to prep the brass surface & noticed they were a little wobbly. I ended up discovering that these are screwed together in 3 parts, why I'm not sure (does anyone else know?) but I took it apart for the sake of sanding & then wiped them down & put it back together before spraying.

I used a few coats of some Krylon, black satin paint to dress these up & I LOVE how they turned out!

They look so sleek & chic now don't you think?

Here's a good close up shot, I got a few bubbles in some areas but with the black paint you can't even notice it from afar.

So pretty & curvy...

Here they are with some ivory candles I had.

At their new home on the coffee table.

I love their new look now!

Have you made any spray paint makeovers lately?

Much better!!! Let's see... I haven't spray painted anything real lately. I did spray paint some gift tins awhile back though!

I love spray painting old stuff and make them as new! I did the chandelier in the dining room and the outdoor light fixtures!
