Button tack tutorial

Hey all! I wanted to share a fun button tack project I just did last night! I found the idea on Pinterest (follow me here) & there are a ton of sites that have tutorials. In all honesty, I didn't visit any of them, I just saw one picture & knew I could make some for myself, they're not hard at all to do & I finished a few in less than half an hour! :-) They would dress up any memo or cork board & even make cute gifts for teachers or friends.

Supplies:
*Thumb tacks (I got a pack of 200 at staples for less than $4...they're going to last forever)
*Button assortment (you all know I'm a sucker for  buttons, I have lots so I mixed & matched a few)
*Hot glue gun

Start with an assortment of buttons...it took me a while to pick out which I wanted, I mostly went with ones that weren't in matching pairs.

Here were my final selections...

I got out a few tacks...

And picked out a button...

Then I dabbed a spot of hot glue on the top & spread it out with the tip of the glue gun. Don't use too much though because if your button has sewing holes in it, the glue can squeeze through & it can get messy.

Easy peasy! Just repeat with the rest of your buttons & let them dry/cool off if you're using hot glue. You won't have to wait for long.

And wha-la!!! Instant pretties for your memo board! Aren't they sweet?

Here they are on the board...

And here they are tacking up my business card. They're such a fun way to dress up a memo or plain cork board.

What do you think???
